πŸ†πŸŒŠ 🏁 Race Results – Who Needs to Win to Be a Champion? πŸ†

You don’t have to win a race to be the champion – just ask Mandala! πŸ’ͺ She’s extended her series lead despite finishing behind most of the fleet on the water – proof that slow and steady (and smart) really does win the race πŸ’β›΅

Five brave boats took on the classic Weston Bay cocktail of 20+ knot winds and a boisterous sea state for what turned into a very lively trial of our proposed regatta course. For those who missed it, here’s the rollercoaster route:

Start at Mark E ➑️ A ➑️ back to E ➑️ B ➑️ back to E ➑️ C ➑️ back to E ➑️ D ➑️ and (you guessed it) finish at E.

Feedback’s been noted – a few tweaks incoming on mark directions – but overall, the course worked well. All it needs now is a proper name!

πŸ’‘ The Commodore’s Starfish?
πŸ’‘ Old MacDonald (EAEA-oh)?
πŸ’‘ The Last Roundabout in Weston?
Head over to our facebook page and drop your suggestions in the comments – the sillier the better, obviously.

β›΅ Results on the day:
πŸ₯‡ Aelea – Line honours and 1st on corrected time!
πŸ₯ˆ Mandala – trailed the fleet but sailed smart for a brilliant 2nd corrected.
πŸ₯‰ Lottie – a solid 3rd.
πŸ’₯ Lastern – speedy but had a technical hiccup.
πŸ› οΈ Star – retired due to technical issues.

πŸ“Š Series standings so far:

  1. Mandala
  2. Lottie
  3. Mirage
  4. Aelea
  5. Cutty Wren
  6. Lastern

Well done to all who sailed – and remember, fortune favours the salty! 🌊
